Following the merger of Halifax and Bank of Scotland on 10th September 2001, HBOS has 22 million customers.

Halifax House Price Index Since 1984, the Halifax House Price Index has been used extensively by government departments, the media and businesses as an authoritative indicator of house price movements in the U.K.
It is based on the largest sample of housing data and provides the longest unbroken series of any similar U.K. index.
